At the tender age of 13, Kate is the youngest member of the Band. Kate started to learn Cornet about when she was just six years old, and is already making a name for herself as a bright new talent in the Brass Band world. She regularly enters local music competitions notably the Tynedale & Wansbeck Music Festivals, picking up a clutch of prizes on the way.

Inspired by her Mum, Yvonne, the Band's Soprano player and her Dad, Steve, Reg Vardy's Resident Conductor & Principal Eb Bass, Kate has brass playing in her genes and with their help and support, Kate has the potential to become a very fine Cornet player.

Kate is also a member of the National Childrens Brass Band of Great Britain and also The Yorkshire Youth Brass Band.

Since joining Felling in 2006 Kate has been featured as a soloist on a number of occasions playing Andrew Lloyd Webber's 'I Don't Know How to Love Him' and more recently a beautiful arrangement of the traditional Hymn 'How Great Though Art'.
